Best-selling author Katie Fforde is hosting this Writing Workshop at her home in Rodborough, along with fellow writing experts Janet Gover and Alison May.
During the day, students will be divided into small groups, each of whom will have a session with each tutor. There will be plenty of time for questions and general mixing. It will be an inspiring day that will send everyone away full of confidence and ideas.
The workshop runs from 9.30am until 5pm and includes a two-course lunch with wine, refreshments throughout the day including pastries from Salt Bakehouse, and a Katie Fforde goodie bag.
Proceeds from the day will go to the Stroud Valleys Project.
Cost: £180 per person (over 18s only). Details and booking here
Alison says: ‘When I moved from writing for pleasure to writing as my career I was incredibly excited. It was something I had dreamed of for years so achieving that was genuinely brilliant.
But… over time I realised that something had changed. Writing was starting to feel like a chore. I was facing writers’ block, which I’d never experienced before, and I was struggling to remember who I wanted to be as an author. Somewhere along the road I’d fallen out of love with writing.’
This course is for anyone who finds that story even a little bit familiar. Whether you’re published or unpublished, whether you’ve been writing for 1 year or 20, we can all have moments when we lose our sense of joy. This course is designed to help you get that back.
This course is designed to be studied at your own pace. There is no direct tutor support – everything you need is within the course for you to work on whenever suits you. You will have access to the video tutorials and downloads for 1 year from the date of registration. This course was previously offered in 2022 as part of the Romance Writers of Australia online learning programme.

This will be a tutor-supported retreat. That means that, as well as having lots of time to write, you’ll get an individual one to one session with Alison May to discuss your work in progress and she’ll be available throughout the weekend to brainstorm, offer a sounding board and answer questions about writing and publishing.
This is a small group retreat and it’s suitable for anyone trying to write a novel, whether you’re just starting or battling with edits. Alison will be there to help and support you.
