I am a novelist, novella writer, and short story writer, and a former winner of the Romantic Novelists’ Association Elizabeth Goudge Trophy. My first novel, Sweet Nothing, was published in November 2013, followed just a week later by the first book in the Christmas Kisses trilogy, Holly’s Christmas Kiss.
Since then I’ve published two more Christmas Kiss novellas and another full-length romcoml, Midsummer Dreams. The second Christmas Kiss story, Cora’s Christmas Kiss was shortlisted in the Love Stories and RoNA Awards. My most recent solo novel, All That Was Lost, was released by Legend Press in 2018. I’m currently represented by Julia Silk at Kingsford Campbell Literary Agents.
I also write, in collaboration with Janet Gover, as Juliet Bell. Juliet writes reimaginings of misunderstood classics and is published by HQ (HarperCollins).
I completed a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Writing with the University of Birmingham in 2008, which involved writing fiction, memoir, poetry, and radio and film scripts. I’m the current Chair of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, and a member of the Society of Authors.
In addition to writing, I am also a qualified teacher, specialising in teaching adults. I’ve been teaching creative writing since 2009, and have taught community groups, one-off workshops, adult education courses, and a University of Worcester undergraduate creative writing module. I have also led workshops for the Romantic Novelists’ Association, and Worcestershire LitFest and Fringe.
I work with writers of all forms of fiction. I have a particular interest in commercial women’s fiction, accessible literary fiction, crime, comedy, and romance, but I love working with authors in other genres too.
